It was fun reconfiguring ‘Slink’ for installation in Layers – I un-stretched it and suspended the fabric with chains through grommets, it seemed to add a whole new dimension that I liked to the work.

Investigating the limits of perception and depth

‘Layers’ brings together over 30 artists from the collective Unprimed, each considering what

lies beyond our superficial gaze. It delves into the multifaceted concept of layers, within the

passage of time, into our derma or within geological stratifications.

Throughout the exhibition, the notion of layers – and its proximity to skin, the Earth, and time

– returns in different forms, inviting viewers to contemplate the complexity beneath the

surface. The artworks in this exhibtion reveal much more than what is immediately evident

on the surface.
